We aim to respond within a few business days. Cherished is built by a small team, so we read every message.
Everything you write in Cherished is stored locally on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to our servers — we don't have any. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
A Partner Card is a private link or QR code you can send your partner so they can add a few details about themselves — birthday, preferences, love language — directly into your app. It doesn't require them to download Cherished or create an account; if they don't have the app yet, opening the link just offers them the App Store download, then picks up where it left off. Find it under Settings → Share Partner Card.
In Settings, scroll to the Backup section. Tap Save backup to create a file you can keep in iCloud Drive, email to yourself, or save anywhere iOS lets you share files. To restore later, tap Restore from backup and pick the file.
Create a backup on your old phone, save it somewhere accessible (iCloud Drive is easiest), install Cherished on your new phone, complete onboarding, then go to Settings → Restore from backup.
Check that notifications are enabled in both places:
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, find Cherished Plus, and tap Cancel. Your subscription stays active until the end of the current period.
If you didn't have a backup saved, yes — deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. We can't recover it because we never had a copy. This is why we recommend creating a backup every few weeks.
The Android app is coming soon. Cherished currently lives on iPhone.
There are no accounts to share — Cherished doesn't have them. Instead, you can send your partner a Partner Card: a link or QR code (Settings → Share Partner Card) that lets them add their own details — birthday, preferences, love language — straight into your app. They don't need to download Cherished or create anything to do this. Your journal stays private to your device either way.
